Technology Intelligence

VIA INNO expertiseTechnology intelligence?

Technology intelligence can be defined as the set of coordinated activities aimed at acquiring comprehensive knowledge about the scientific and technological environment to support the decision-making process, particularly in matters related to research and innovation management.

For whom?Research and innovation players

All stakeholders in innovation or research are potentially sensitive to these issues.

Whether you are conducting research and innovation or providing support for it, technology intelligence can assist you in addressing your challenges.

  • Companies of all sizes and in all sectors (start-ups, SMEs, intermediate-sized companies, large corporations).
  • Actor in public research such as universities and public scientific and technological institutions (EPST).
  • Entities involved in supporting research and innovation.
  • Public institutions and local authorities with expertise in the field of research and innovation.

Innovation managementWhy ?

Technology intelligence is a set of methods, tools, skills and know-how designed to solve research and innovation challenges:

  • Deciphering scientific and technological trends in a research and innovation ecosystem.
  • Identifying and understanding the actions and interactions of the players involved in research and innovation ecosystems.
  • Gaining a better understanding of your organization's research and innovation, and compare yourself with others.

The challenges may be numerous and often complex, technology intelligence enables us to approach them in a highly operational approach to assist in their resolution.

It represents a genuine professional expertise that combines methods, skills, know-how, and a toolkit to organize the execution of work that aids in resolving innovation challenges.

IN PRACTICEA 5-step process

Step 1: Definition of Informational Needs

This is the step that prepares for the implementation of the complete technology intelligence process.

It should result in the formalization of the work context, informational needs, the subject, as well as the scope of analysis and expectations regarding the results.

Step 2: Data Collection

This is the step that applies the search criteria formalized in step 1 to collect the data that have been selected for the work.

Step 3: Data Processing

This is a step that encompasses various sub-steps that may differ depending on the informational needs and/or constraints related to the data and/or their use in the analytical part.

It includes steps aimed at consolidating, cleaning, and processing the data for use in the downstream parts of the process.

Step 4: Data Analysis According to Informational Needs

This is the step that leverages the data prepared in step 2 to provide answers to the informational needs formalized in step 1. This is the actual data analysis part.

It primarily relies on the use of selected indicators generated from the data processed in step 3, and their analysis is guided by a specific methodological framework chosen based on the informational needs.

Step 5: Dissemination and Utilization of the Work

This is the step that concludes the completion of the work by facilitating the dissemination and integration of the results produced to both direct stakeholders and potential indirect users.
